We are delighted to share an update following our recent fundraising in support of Make-A-Wish UK.

Thanks to the generosity of residents, families, staff and our wider community, the total raised so far is £3,881.50. Fundraising efforts are continuing as we now work towards our £5,000 target, with more activities planned in the coming months.

On Thursday 25th September, Limewood hosted a special fundraising day to mark Manager Claire Wilson’s head shave. The event included a raffle, tombola, handmade bead pens created by residents, a craft stall, sweet stall and a coffee and cake sale. Residents were proud to take part by helping to make items for the stalls and supporting the activities throughout the day.

Ahead of the event, a bidding competition was launched for the chance to make the first cut of Claire’s ponytail. The winning bid was from Sam Baddeley, who donated £100 before helping to begin the head shave. The shave itself was completed by Deb Rutter, supported by volunteers Sandra, Megan, and Zara. We are incredibly grateful to all involved.

Claire Wilson, Manager at Limewood, said:

We will keep going until we reach our target because these funds will help create unforgettable memories for children and families who need them most.”

As part of the Care Concern Group, Limewood is committed to giving back to the wider community. Supporting important causes and charitable organisations plays a key role in the Group’s values and the home will continue to focus on fundraising initiatives that make a real difference to others.
