At Limewood, we love taking a celebration and turning it into something truly special for everyone to enjoy and Halloween was no exception. The team transformed the home into a Halloween wonderland, filled with creativity, laughter and connection. Every detail, from the decorations to the activities, was thoughtfully planned so that every resident could take part in a way that suited them.

Our approach to celebrations is always about inclusivity. We make sure there are activities to suit all abilities and interests. Some residents enjoy hands-on crafts and decorations, while others prefer the social side of themed events, music and film sessions. Halloween offered the perfect opportunity to combine all of these, creating a fun, stimulating environment that encouraged creativity and social interaction throughout the week.

The home was alive with colour and imagination as residents crafted spooky decorations, painted pumpkins and helped dress the communal spaces for the festivities. Others joined in by choosing the music, helping to set up the cinema room for Halloween classics, or simply relaxing with a hot chocolate and enjoying the atmosphere. Every contribution, big or small, added to the sense of togetherness that makes celebrations like this so meaningful.

These themed weeks aren’t just about having fun, they also support wellbeing in many ways. Creative sessions boost confidence and dexterity, shared activities spark conversation and connection and moments of laughter and nostalgia lift everyone’s mood. It’s this blend of engagement and enjoyment that helps make life at Limewood so vibrant.

We were also deeply touched by the generosity of our local community. A special thank you goes to the Co-op on Stone Road, who kindly donated two fantastic Halloween hampers. We shared one with residents and the other was raffled to raise an amazing £51.50 for the residents’ fund. We’re also grateful to the team at Spar Westway for their thoughtful “trick or treat” package filled with pumpkins, sweets, biscuits and chocolates.
